Welcome to the Supreme Court of Nigeria web site.  The Supreme Court has original jurisdiction in any dispute between the Federation and a state or between states and also has original jurisdiction to hear and determine appeals from the Court of Appeal. The Supreme Court of Nigeria consist of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and such number of Justices of the Supreme Court, not exceeding twenty-one, as may be prescribed by an Act of the National Assembly. Presently the Supreme Court is made up of the Chief Justice and twelve (13) other Justices.

• New Acting CJN assumes office

  Hon Justice Dahiru Musdapher assumes the position of the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
  

• New Legal Year

  The new legal year will commence on 19th September, 2011 with a Special Court session. Details about the Court Session will be uploaded shortly.

• New SANs

  The new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) were sworn in on 26th August, 2011.
